Content Server Consulting Credentials
FieldCo and its co-founder, Tony Field, have been active in the core development and support of FatWire Content Server since 1999. Not a single FatWire employee has more history with Content Server (though several do have as much).
Two years in customer and developer support have created a strong foundation in understanding how customers use the product. From October of 2000 through June of 2007, Tony spent time in the core engineering team where he was instrumental in the design and development of Content Server. His rich experience with customer situations has enshrined a practical approach to development that resulted in increased functionality, greater simplicity and usability of the product suite as a whole, both for end users and template developers. Periodic visits to customer sites kept these skills sharp and kept him abreast of current uses, needs and customer desires.
In 2001 Tony was the architect of the Open Market Developer Community web site, Open Market's corporate web site, and divine.com, divine's brand new multilingual corporate web site. All of these sites were based on Content Server and demonstrated best practices.
From 2003 through 2007 Tony was the lead developer for Content Server's acclaimed rendering engine caching system. He was instrumental in the development of intelligent cache management, and was the architect of Content Server's portlet support, and custom URL assembly modules.
In 2005, Tony was the architect and lead developer for the new sample site, FirstSite II, which demonstrates best practices, new techniques, and serves as a platform upon which new components and modules are built.
In 2006, Tony designed and built support for multilingual assets into the product core, allowing customers to easily create families of multilingual sites on a single platform.
In 2007, Tony left Engineering to serve as Principal Engineer for FatWire's successful Client Services division. In this role he serves as a primary technical backup resource for all customer-facing technical personnel, defining best practices, reviewing existing and proposed system architectures, and acting as a liaison between Engineering and Client Services. He consults actively with Engineering on new module designs and is instrumental in the resurrection of the developer community and developer resources.
Tony's excellent communication skills and superior technical knowledge make him the speaker of choice at user groups and under-the-hood training sessions in the US and Europe. Tony is also an active member in the Content Server users' group as well as FatWire's internal discussion forum.
