FTP Settings
In order to use FTP on FieldCo's servers, you must have a valid account. Anonymous FTP is not permitted. In most cases, you will be assigned a special user account for ftp, but in some cases it may be your email account. Each account has a password assigned to it.
To connect to your FTP server (which may also be your web server), enter the following settings in your ftp application:
Field | Value |
---|---|
Server | ftp.yourdomain.com |
Port | 21 |
User id | your-user-id |
Password | your-password |
Directory | see below |
By default, when you connect to the FTP server, your folder will be your account's home folder. Web files are located in the following subfolder: /www/yourdomain.com/ and that is where you can add your web files.
If you would like to connect to your ftp server's web folder through the command line then we assume you know what you are doing. Here's your command:
ftp://your-user-id:your-password@ftp.yourdomain.com/www/yourdomain.com/
If you want to access the site before the domain is active, you can replace the server with one of fieldco4.fieldco.net, fieldco7.fieldco.net or another server specified by FieldCo. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
